[edit] Potential Vocabulary Topics

The following topics have been suggested as potential topics for vocabulary work. Anyone attending is free to add any topics they would like to cover. Also, if you are interested in any of the topics already suggested, feel free to make a note.

  • anything government related may be of more interest at ISWC2009 (Duane Degler)
  • archaeological, anthropological, and historical data sets (Rafael C. Alvarado)
  • University Ontology : various aspects of higher education that works in AIISO, SIOC, BIBO, and some others (Patrick Murray-John)
  • Vocabulary for Social Services in relation with SIOC and AIISO concepts (Kalyan Lanka)

  • Environmental observations. (Luis Bermudez)
  • Government publications - GPO/LOC (Liz Pruszko)
  • Meetup Ontology (Marco Neumann)

[edit] Knoodl

Knoodl is a web-based ontology editor and wiki. It could be very useful for helping people collaborate on ontologies both before and after the VoCamp. If anyone has an ontology that has already been started, please upload it in the VoCamp Community in Knoodl so that other participants can get a look at it and start contributing before the VoCamp begins. The Wine and Food ontologies have been uploaded as examples.

[edit] Presentations

Presentations will be given in one of the smaller rooms so that people may choose to watch them or simply work with other people in the other rooms. If you are interested in presenting, contact mikelangjr@revelytix.com. Presenters so far are:

  • Mike Lang - Introduction to Knoodl.com
  • Kendall Clark - Using Pellet and Protege 4 for making OWL ontologies
  • Liz Pruszko - If there is enough interest, I could discuss Calais integration with Drupal
  • Marco Neumann - Meetup Ontology / GeoSpatial RDF
